Dr. Francine Grevin earned her doctorate degree from Alliant University. Her clinical internships have included:
• Providing evaluation and psychotherapy at Children's Hospital and Research Center in Oakland, California
• Neuropsychological testing and psychotherapy for children, adolescents and adults in an acute psychiatric hospital setting (formerly First Hospital Vallejo)
• Counseling middle school students at Martin Luther King Middle Middle School in Berkeley
• Brief psychotherapy and neuropsychological testing for all ages in the Department of Mental Health at Kaiser Permanente in Pleasant Hill/Martinez.
In addition to her private practice, Dr. Grevin has over 12 years of experience in a behavioral medicine setting, providing consultation, evaluation and brief treatment for adults of all ages for a large HMO within the Department of Internal Medicine. This includes work with patients dealing with anxiety, depression, grief, adjustment issues and co morbid medical issues. This includes cognitive screening/testing, working with patients dealing with a chronic illness, and focusing on short term behavioral and cognitive strategies to help with symptom reduction and long terms coping skills/life style changes.
Dr. Grevin is comfortable working with individuals of all ages presenting with a variety of difficulties, including depression and other mood disorders, anxiety disorders, grief, trauma victims, medical adjustment difficulties, substance abuse, and phase of life issues.
In addition to working with children with a broad range of difficulties, she has specialized training and interest in pediatric neurodevelopmental and neuropsychiatric disorders, such as Tics and Tourette's Disorder, Aspergers' Disorder and Childhood Onset Bipolar Disorder.
